It works!

I'm age 69, tired of gas fumes from lawnmowers that "stink up my garage" with ongoing gasoline leaks. I purchased this American 16" after a very poor run with another well known brand from another retailer. This mower is nothing short of outstanding! It is constructed from STEEL and NOT pot metal like the one I just returned. It is well made, VERY easy to assemble and cuts the grass evenly. The mower is QUIET, easy to push and requires NO effort to cut my grass with. This is an outstanding, well constructed, and easy to use reel lawn mower. Oh, by the way, I'm a perfectionist, thus this review is made with that attitude. Great piece of equipment indeed.

Outstanding, well made, and easy to use

I bought it as an interim solution for when my grass really needs cutting and my cutter can't come for a few days. I can keep certain areas low so that my little dog can go. Also, no worries about gas spillage causing dead patches. Compare it to cutting your own hair versus a barber. It's low but it's not manicured. May require several pass-thrus. Not too difficult to push for this boomer.

Very Pleased

I ordered this last spring and I swear I thought I was going to be wasting my money. I figured it wouldn't stay sharp enough to use more than a few times and thought that it wouldn't cut my grass good or be too much work to do often. Turns out I love to use it and it cuts my grass great. And even though it has been rained on many times bc I am too lazy to put it away it seems like it is getting sharper by the day. I even love that I feel like it works out by core too. This spring I added a little $60 battery powered edger from Home Depot and it is the perfect combo for a small to medium sized yard!

My favorite thing I swear

3 screws and 2 locking nuts and it is together and ready for mowing!  I was most impressed and please that I was able to put it together since I am not mechanically inclined.

Very nice manual mower, looks to be a quality piece. Wait to see how it cuts.

Manual Mower

It works best for short, flat grass, not for rougher or longer blades. It can get backed up easily for longer or courser blades of grass. Wish they didn't have a mini flat platform blade area that allows grass buildup and clogging. Probably would have been better if the area had a slight tilt allowing grass to slide off and then not get clogged as easily.

OK engineering. Not as good as old school designs

Leaves blades of grass standing all over the yard.  It is difficult to be impressed with this mower.

Doesn't cut very well.

Disappointed.  I looked up American-made lawn mowers online to buy one, and this one was listed.  The name is misleading.  I am waiting for a call back from the manufacturer, but haven't heard.  I would like to return it.  I haven't even taken it out of the box.  It is made in China!  I have been trying to buy items from anywhere but China, but it seems everything is made there.  I would rather do without.

Very disappointed.
