I got this a year ago as a present. It took some practice to get used to. But since I got it I haven't use my gas grill once. You have to use the right charcoal. (lump) 
Somehow this grill is very economic once the food is cook you close the vents and is a  nice chunks of charcoal left to start the next fire. I have use it a lot and I use two bags of charcoal so far. Cheaper than my gas grill. The great advantage is that the food has this amazing flavor you can smoke, grill, bake. This grill is a great value and does as great job as the green egg for a lot less.

Absolutely love the food I make on this thing!  Steaks, ribs, pork butt, chicken, oysters, lobsters, shrimps, crabs, veggies, and pizzas!

The egg came first! then the great chicken!

It is every easy to start and quick to heat.  I use lump charcoal and a fire starter brick and close lid with all vents open.  Within 5 min BBQ is ready for us.  You forget how amazing food taste from a non-gas grill.  So far I have slowed cooked a pork butt, bbq steaks/chops/ribs and smoked salmon.  I purchased my grill at Costco.

All year long "Q"!

I've had this grill for about 9 months and I couldn't be happier with it. It has exceeded my expectations. The handle and the side trays are sturdy. The finish on the grill has remained as attractive as the day i bought it. I keep the cover on it when not in use. One very small issue has been the side trays and handle are discolored - turning black. It looks like mildew perhaps. It doesn't affect the operation of the grill.

Awesome Grill

My wife bought this for me 2015 Christmas. After using gas grills for alot of years, I started experimenting with a charcoal kettle grill that I picked up cheap. My wife thought that I may benefit from one of those Ceramic grills. She got this one through Targets website with a bunch of promos over that Christmas.  It came just on time for me to try it for a prime rib Christmas dinner.  I have been cooking on it every week since I got it. Sometimes as much as 6 days a week. It was a little difficult at first to get accessories for it, but it has become much easier. Accessories are not as easy to find as they are for certain other green kamados. I have found that most items that will fit a 22.5" kettle will fit this. When the heat deflector was available from Pit Boss site, I ordered it right away. Kick Ash Basket is available, Craycort cast iron grates are available.  I wish there was other vent caps available,  but I'm sure there will be. For air flow control I have used a Pitmaster IQ. I have a Tappecue to monitor the temps. I've cooked prime rib, turkey, chicken, pizza, bread, pies, hamburgers, I even did a stir fry on it tonight before I wrote this review. My wife and I were talking about what a great purchase this was. I always liked cooking, and this grill took it up a notch. I have even more passion for cooking now then I have had in years. I keep trying to convince my wife that I  could do even more if I had another ceramic grill that I could fire up for over flow. Two or three has got to be better then one, right?

Awesome Kamado Grill

I considered buying a big green egg. However I'm glad I bought this one. Keeps temp consistently and works great. Good quality it was packed well upon arrival. Great decision. The deflector plate is a must buy and the double grill it comes with is a great feature. I have 4 pits this has replaced them all. Great value for the price.

My go to pit!

Love the Pit Boss with the exception of the bottom air vent.  It is a loose fit even when adjusted and seems to leak a bit of air.  This makes it difficult to get a low steady smoking temperature and slows down the snuffing out process of the coals when finished.  Minor detail when you look at the price vs BGE.   Especially when you consider it comes with a cover and second rack for extra cooking space!!

Very good grill

This is my 1st experience with a charcoal grill, let alone a kamado, I'm still learning, but I've made some great food with it, smoked rib roast, ribs, steaks, carne asada, chicken, pizza and I roasted chile peppers to make great smoky salsa! very versatile! Great Flavors!

Great bang for the buck!

I've had this grill for about a year now and love the flavor that it produces. I have smoked meats made pizza and just cooked burgers and dogs . You need to purchase the heat difflector separately for smoking. This unit is heavy . Needed two men to get up onto my deck . The only thing that was disappointing is the low quality wood sealer used to waterproof the wood shelves on the sides . After one rain the shelves turned black and don't look good anymore . I would recommend putting a coat of polyurethane on the wood before leaving it outside .

Great grill

We did a TON of research on ceramic grills. Pit Boss had very high ratings.  Bang for the buck, the best out there! So, unfortunately, we ordered it from Walmart.  "Should have known better." Walmart,  like many companies, sub out there delivery.  They missed three of our windows. A week later, it arrived.  My husband was ecstatic.  "Low and slow brisket" he claimed. When opening it, the Pit Boss was broken in multiple places. Husband was not happy, to say the least.  We spent $50 on the meat and couldn't cook it. Please don't buy these online, get a komato from a local store where you will have service.
