CrossCut Select
CrossCut Select
CrossCut Select is a selective herbicide that successfully controls unwanted trees and brush, as well as emerged annual and perennial broadleaf weeds. Its adaptable formulation can be used during warm or cool weather conditions as well as become rain-resistant within two hours of application.
CrossCut Select, manufactured by Prime Source LLC, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that contains 2,4-D 34.40% and Triclopyr 16.50%, which kills the hardest to control plants by interfering with their growth leading to the treated plants death.
This versatile product can be applied with any type of sprayers from hand-held models to tractor mounted spray rigs.
CrossCut Select makes spray mixing easier by recommending two rates, where the higher rate can be used for tougher, established broadleaf weeds like cocklebur or when lawns are completely dormant.
Tools Needed
To apply CrossCut Select, you will need a pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. We recommend using a 4 gallon backpack sprayer since most applications will need to be made with at least 4 gallons of water.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much CrossCut Select to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in length and multiply together (length X width = square footage). To find acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre 43,560 (square footage / 43,560 = acre). The application rate for spot treatments is 1.33 to 5.33 oz. of CrossCut Select per 1,000 sq. ft. For aerial and ground broadcast applications for small weed, use 1 to 4 quarts of product per 10 gallons of water per acre. Broadcast applications for deep rooted perennial and susceptible woody species, apply 4 quarts of product per 30 gallons of water per acre. Do not apply more than 4 quarts per acre per application per year. Refer to the label for application rates of specific foliage.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with the required amount of water, add the measured amount of CrossCut Select, and then fill the sprayer the rest of the way with remaining half of water. Close the lid to sprayer and shake to ensure an even mix.
- Step 3: Apply CrossCut Select on a fan-spray setting as a broadcast or spot application to the top and bottom of targeted weed leaves. Wait until 24 hours have passed before watering with an inch of irrigation.
Where to Use
CrossCut Select is meant for application on rangelands, permanent grass pastures, conservation reserve program (CPR) acres, commercial turf and sod farms, fence rows, non-irrigation ditch banks, roadsides, specified non-crop areas, and industrial sites.
Do not use on bentgrass, crops, timber, or other plants being grown for sale or other commercial use, or for commercial seed production, research purposes, newly seeded grass, non-cropland, fence rows, non-irrigation ditch banks, roadsides, industrial sites and similar non-crop areas.
When to Use
Use CrossCut Select when weeds first appear or when they are in the rosette stage. For best results, apply in early spring or fall when weeds are actively growing and not yet established. Avoid application during high wind speeds and near freezing weather.
During the season of application, withdraw livestock from grazing treated areas at least 3 days before slaughter. For non-slaughter animals such as dairy animals, do not allow them to graze from the area until the next growing season following application of this product.
Safety Information
CrossCut Select is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or spraying this product.
Keep all pets, children, and other individuals from the treated area until spray mixture is dry or for at least 24 hours.
Special Considerations
CrossCut Select may be mixed with liquid nitrogen fertilizer for foliar broadcast application. However, you will want to perform a capability test in clear jar with your selected liquid nitrogen fertilizer before mixing in a spray tank. Compatibility with liquid nitrogen fertilizers are best when they do not contain phosphorous or potassium elements.
