The Inlet Folding Kayak

The newly released 2021 Oru Inlet is, quite simply, for everyone. Designed to be played with on flat water, this model’s features speak to paddlers of all skill levels and needs across the board. When not in use, the Inlet folds down into a box half the height of our existing kayaks. Most of the new perks of this model can be attributed to the ingenuity of the SHINY. NEW. fold pattern.

Redesigned for the first time in our history, this new design focuses on efficiency and will streamline your entire kayaking experience, from box to boat to water and back. Thanks to this new fold pattern and problem-solving skills of our design team, the Inlet as fewer loose components to put in place and far fewer assembly steps. Oru Kayaks are made from a custom polypropylene, with a 10 year UV treatment, and a 20,000 fold cycle rating! While the hull is designed to take a beating, we suggest you treat your kayak like a fiberglass boat. Oru Kayaks come with a limited 12-month warranty.

Caring For Your Origami Kayak

We recommend treating your Oru Kayak as you would a fiberglass, wood, or skin-on-frame kayak. Here are some guidelines:

  • Avoid unnecessary dragging or bumping - use the carry handles to lift, instead of tugging it behind you
  • Store out of direct sunlight - our boats have a 10-year UV treatment, but we still recommend sheltered storage
  • Rinse the kayak thoroughly with fresh water after each use - sediment and salt that dry to the surface of the boat can be abrasive over time
  • Oru kayaks are designed to be easily repairable if anything should wear out over time. Our repairs team is happy to help! Just shoot us an email to service@orukayak.com with a brief description of your issue, a photo, and your Hull Identification Number to get the ball rolling!

Love this kayak!

I already have both hard shell and inflatable kayaks so didn't exactly need this one, but I absolutely love it. I bought the backpack, which is as good as all the reviews say, and the four-piece paddle which fits perfectly in the pack, so I can carry it to places I would not otherwise be able to put in. Setup is a snap and it feels completely reliable on the water. EcoFishing service was great. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.
